How to increase your chance of a successful VBAC?
It is important to understand the restrictions put in place when it comes to birthing after a previous c-section. Not just those restrictions we might have put on ourselves but the health care providers might also put on you. Or as they might suggest 'birthing within guidelines'.

So, how can you increase your chances of having a VBAC? Let's take a look.

Get informed and understand YOUR risk.
We are automatically labelled as high-risk when we have had a previous birth after C-section. What does that mean? Well, not much really because it is a label assigned to you from the Health Care Provider (HCP), you, however, might not feel there is anything high risk about birthing after C-section. As it is your body, and YOUR RISK.
Get the right support.
You don't have to stick with the HCP you have been assigned, you can change. You might want also think about who you want in the birth space; birth partner, doula or private HCP. Who is there is up to you.
Why Hypnobirthing?
Having a birth after a previous C-section, is physical work yes but most importantly it is mentally hard work. You have to negotiate and navigate your care and keep your mind and body in a place of safety. Learning how birth impacts your autonomic nervous is so important if you want to have a calm empowering birth.
